Global Threat

 Global Climate Threat

Climate changes is a real and fast emerging threat to humanity which is unfortunately  also majorly caused by humanity. In humanities effort to leave a comfortable life, we have made the future unstable which can also be said as "trading the future for the comfort of today", but what is climate change?.

What is climate change?

Climate change is a planetary process of (mostly negative) change in the atmospheric condition of Earth, primarily caused by human activities.

Climate change to us today refers to the negative transformation of our planet due to increasing human activities, either as a result of trying to improve life or destroy life. With this changes comes Droughts, High tides, longer Monsoon, excessive Heat, etc.

Causes of Climate changes:

A lot of daily actions contributes to climate change, these are actions/activities we take daily such as bush burning, driving, flying, deforestation, water diversion and much more, but here are some big ones.

Carbon dioxide:

Carbon dioxide also called CO2 is a colorless and non-flammable gas at normal temperature and pressure, Carbon dioxide is a chemical compound occurring as a colorless gas with a density about 53% higher than that of dry air. Carbon dioxide molecules consist of a carbon atom covalently double bonded to two oxygen atoms.

Carbon dioxide is also a harmful gas to humans as it can cause headaches, dizziness, difficulty breathing, coma, asphyxia, and convulsions when exposed to it long enough.

However the excessive output of CO2 into our atmosphere causes the earth Ozone layer which helps protect the earth from Ultraviolet sun radiation to breakup and lose density, this have led to the increase in the amount of radiation entering the earths inner atmosphere causing rise in Heat and temperature, Ice meat down and sudden forest fire.

CO2 are emitted from cars, coal burning, bush burning or any burning in general, explosion of  certain chemicals and wars.

Deforestation:

Deforestation or forest clearance is the removal of a forest or stand of trees from land that is then converted to non-forest use. Deforestation can involve conversion of forest land to farms, ranches, or urban use. The most concentrated deforestation occurs in tropical rain forests.

Deforestation can lead to erosion and floods as trees which could potentially hold soil together or divert/diffuse  strong winds have been cleared out for other purpose and are not replanted to replenish losses.

There are lots of human activities that contributes to the negative changes we see today and will see in the future but we can stop the changes or reduce the negative impact it could have on the future and these are:

  1. Plant more trees
  2. Switching to renewable energy
  3. Reducing carbon emitting activities
  4. Creating more awareness on climate change implications
  5. Control  Animal and Aquatic life hunting etc.

These changes are but a few we can work towards to reduce the impact of climate crises on the future.
